Alexjandria Simpson is a Michigan-born marketing strategist, cultural diplomat, recording artist, and author dedicated to making arts and culture accessible to diverse communities worldwide.
As Senior Manager of Audience Development at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Alexjandria leads multicultural marketing campaigns across Spanish, Chinese, and English-speaking audiences throughout NYC’s five boroughs. She oversees brand partnerships, community outreach initiatives, and youth engagement programs while managing direct reports, interns, and coordinating with 11 resident organizations. Under her leadership, campaigns have generated over 3 million digital impressions, distributed more than 10,000 complimentary tickets, and welcomed 5,000+ first-time visitors to world-class performances.
With nearly a decade of experience spanning three continents, Alexjandria has built her career at the intersection of marketing, culture, and social impact. Her previous roles include positions at BerlinRosen PR & Marketing, the International Rescue Committee, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Universal Music Group, and Disrupcion Records in Spain, where she managed celebrity partnerships, influencer campaigns, and high-profile cultural events. Her work has been featured in Forbes and the Wall Street Journal, and she has participated in the ForbesAgtech Hackathon, demonstrating her innovative approach to solving complex challenges.
Alexjandria holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in Global Entertainment & Music Business from Berklee College of Music. As a published public health researcher and MHIRT Research Fellow, she conducted groundbreaking research in Mongolia, showcasing her interdisciplinary expertise. Fluent in Spanish and French, she brings a truly global perspective to her work, having traveled to all seven continents.
Beyond marketing, Alexjandria is an accomplished classically trained vocalist whose artistry has shaped her from childhood. A recording artist who created her first album at only six years old in collaboration with Burger King, she went on to become an alumna of Detroit’s prestigious Mosaic Youth Theatre and earned recognition as University of Michigan’s Artist of the Year Award recipient. Her accolades include winning the American Idol Experience at Universal Studios and earning an ACT-SO Competition Vocal Classical Gold Medal. She has toured Europe as a performer, graced stages at BBC’s Introducing Conference in 2018 at London’s Tobacco Dock, and performed alongside gospel legend Vickie Winans in a solo featured in the recorded “Sounds of the Holidays” TV special. Her deep connection to music—from classical training to her love of pop, house, country, and r&b—informs her innovative approach to audience engagement and cultural programming.
A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alexjandria earned a Guinness World Record alongside her Sorors during the 71st Boulé in Dallas, Texas, for the most care packages made in an hour—a testament to her commitment to service and community impact.
